Dr. Mary Sue (Milligan) Dahdah was born in Cutler,
Illinois, USA, in 1935.

She studied at Southern Illinois University, where
she met Farid Dahdah, her future husband. They were
married in 1957, and Sue began her career as a teacher
soon afterwards in St. Louis, Missouri.
They moved to Ramallah and then Amman in 1960,
where she worked as a teacher and then principal of the
American Community School (ACS) in Amman until
1978.

She co-founded Abdul Hamid Sharaf School in 1980
with Farid, after completing her Doctorate in Education,
and was the director of the school until May 2023,
completing a 66 year career as an educator.
Sue will forever be remembered for her
compassionate belief in education for every child, an
open door for all, and for leading a school where children
could be children. Sue’s legacy will live on in the students, staff, and families of Abdul Hamid Sharaf School for generations to come.

All who walked through this school were Sue’s
family. Thank you for being a part of her legacy.

A Letter From Founder:

If you are looking for a friendly, family-style, down-to-earth school to put your children in, look no further. The Abdul Hamid Sharaf School is the school for you. Since we opened the school in 1980, we have been known as a child-centered school where children come happily to learn, to socialize, and to grow. We have graduated many successful, mature, well-rounded people who are contributing positively to society. Our students represent a cross-section of society which prepares them to deal with real life in the real world. We are proud of our students and of our accomplishments.
